Looking after it
Machine washable at 30 degrees on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry on low or line dry. No bleach. A cool iron on the reverse if it needs one. Polyester satin takes more handling than silk does, which is a good part of the reason to buy it.

The range keeps the word silk in its name because that is what it has always been called here and the URLs are years old, but the page will not let you buy it thinking it is something else.

What you get for the price is a fabric that glides much like silk, survives a normal wash, tolerates a tumble dryer on low and holds its colour through repeated washing. Silk does none of those three things as well. If you want the real fibre, the mulberry range is on the same site and says so on every page.
This one is a viscose satin rather than a polyester satin, which is a softer hand and a slightly warmer fabric. It is still a weave and it is still not silk.
