Silk thread is too fine for a useful thread count, so a piece is weighed instead. At 22 momme this is a dense, heavy silk. Below about 19 a pillowcase wears through quickly, and much above 22 you are into curtain weight and lose the drape.\n\nThe most unusual colour we stock and the one people either want immediately or not at all. It sits well with natural wood and badly with warm yellows.\n\nCare is the part people get wrong and it is simple. Cold water, no enzymes, no bleach, no dryer, dry in the shade. A mesh laundry bag makes a machine cycle safe.
